This role shall take full ownership of financial reporting for both internal and external purposes.Additionally, the role will identify opportunities to implement, simplify and improve workflow processes and act as a business partner to the leadership of the division to provide commercial insights to drive growth and business performance.Main duties and responsibilitiesOverall responsibilitiesActively support the development of strategic and business plans with financial modelling and scenario analysisTake responsibility for the preparation, production and review of monthly management accounts including variance analysis to budget/forecast, in line with Group deadlinesCoordinate periodic forecasting and reforecasting activities, incorporating up-to-date enrolment, revenue and cost projectionsMaintain strong financial control over the balance sheets and working capital including cash flowPreparation of monthly commentary/financial reports as requiredWeekly preparation of a 13W CF forecast based on up-to-date informationReview college and divisional performance against KPIs (financial and operational) in conjunction with the local leadershipProvide business partnering support as required to the local leadership including advising the business on financial issuesOversee student tuition fee collection, refunds processing, agent commission payments and credit control processes in line with contractual, group and local college policy requirementsCompany secretarial duties/liaise with external company secretary/assist with regular shareholder and board meetingsSpecific regulatory responsibilities:Liaise with external accountants, service providers and other relevant third parties to ensure timely and accurate delivery of annual financial compliance, including corporation tax for the Australian GroupLead the 30 June local year-end audit process including preparation of audit packs, statutory accounts and tax computations as applicable (note year ends for consolidation purposes are end of August and December)Provide information required for the group audit process at the group statutory year ends (31 August and 31 December)Prepare meeting papers as appropriate – including relevant Audit & Risk Committees and Board meeting papersSupport college leadership in ensuring compliance obligations for all relevant governing bodies are met – this includes TEQSA’s financial viability and sustainability requirementsMaintain and report against financial performance indicators aligned to TEQSA’s provider risk framework, supporting proactive identification and mitigation of material financial risks.Act as a liaison between colleges, their governing board(s), and the broader team to ensure that financial oversight responsibilities are fully informed and exercised.
