Job Description As an experienced clinical professional, you will play a key role in driving clinical excellence and innovation at Waverley Private Hospital. In this pivotal position, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team while overseeing the full scope of clinical operations. Your responsibilities will include enhancing clinical quality and safety, optimising patient flow and bed management, supporting proactive workforce planning and development, and contributing to service growth and expansion initiatives. You will also play a key role in strengthening staff engagement, improving patient and doctor experience, and driving cost efficiency across the service. What You’ll Do Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to: Overseeing the operational aspects of care delivery, including bed management, patient flow strategies, demand forecasting, and workforce coordination to ensure safe, efficient service delivery. Leading structured workforce planning and supporting the ongoing professional development and capability building of the clinical workforce. Contributing to hospital growth and business development initiatives in alignment with priorities set by the Executive team and Ramsay Health Care. Building and maintaining strong relationships with the Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) community to support the delivery of high-quality clinical care. Developing, managing, and monitoring hospital and departmental budgets, ensuring financial targets are achieved in collaboration with the broader executive team. Monitoring workplace culture and implementing initiatives to foster and sustain a positive, engaged, and high-performing environment. Leading workforce and human resource planning to ensure future capability needs are identified and appropriate recruitment and development strategies are in place. What You’ll Bring As a champion of The Ramsay Way – People Caring for People – you bring a strong clinical leadership approach, fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, developing high-performing teams, and guiding people through organisational change. In this role, you will also: Operate as a strong clinical leader with sound knowledge of the private hospital regulatory and legislative environment. Demonstrate effective clinical resource management to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all clinical departments. Understand key performance drivers that influence clinical quality and business outcomes, with experience applying quality improvement methodologies. Show a strong commitment to workforce development, supported by excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Bring senior leadership experience within the private health sector, including leading organisational change and driving quality improvement initiatives. Demonstrate a solid understanding of clinical governance frameworks and patient safety principles. Essential Qualifications: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA). Postgraduate clinical qualifications.
