As the Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the success of the Trading division. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing critical financial insights, analysis, and reporting to facilitate informed decision-making.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, and based at our Essendon Fields office, you will be a key member of the Visy Trading Finance team. You will be responsible for managing the financial operations and provide accounting, finance, systems and process improvement, commercial and management support in an accurate and timely manner.
In addition to the above but not limited to you will:
1. Prepare, review, and submit monthly Management Accounts of P&L
2. Develop, produce, and maintain KPI’s relevant to the management of the business
3. Preparation of financial and statistical journals
4. Prepare Financial modelling, in line with projects identified
5. Balance Sheet Reconciliations for relevant entities
6. Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
7. Conduct variance analysis and recommend cost-saving initiatives
8. Monitor cash flows & activities monthly on all open trading project
9. Manage supplier payments, and FX transactions
10. Monitor and manage FX currency impacts on business results
11. Support month-end, year-end closing processes and annual budgets
12. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
13. Manage external audit requirements and ensure Integrity of Audited Accounting and Financial Results
To be considered you must have:
14. Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting including CA/ CPA qualification
15. Proven experience in Management Accounting within a fast-paced environment
16. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
17. Excellent communication and presentation skills
18. Proficiency in SAP and Consolidation & Reporting software (preferably Hyperion)
19. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
20. Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
21. Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and problem-solving
