About the Statewide Infection Control Role
Mater Health is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead their statewide infection control strategy on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical leadership, consultancy, and strategic direction in infection prevention and control across Mater Health Services within the state.
* Provide expert infection prevention and control consultancy to departments across hospitals to support safe, evidence-based practice.
* Lead the implementation of best-practice IPC strategies and policies across diverse clinical settings.
* Oversee outbreak management and surveillance activities, including interpreting epidemiological data and escalating emerging risks.
* Ensure timely and accurate reporting of notifiable diseases to public health authorities.
* Embed IPC principles into capital projects and infrastructure development to minimize infection transmission risks.
* Coordinate the statewide application of IPC protocols and collaborate with governance teams to ensure aligned operational delivery.
* Lead reviews of IPC-related incidents and drive system-level improvements to prevent recurrence.
* Support cost-effective IPC decision-making and advise on product evaluation and equipment purchasing.
