Your role
This is an opportunity to join the Aboriginal Strategic Coordination Unit (ASCU) within Youth Justice NSW during a period of significant reform. The Aboriginal Administration Officer provides administrative and operational support to the unit, contributing to work aligned with Closing the Gap, Target 11 and the Priority Reforms. The role supports culturally responsive practice and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal communities, supporting the unit to deliver on its strategic priorities.
What you’ll do
* Provide a range of administrative and support services to facilitate the effective operation of the unit
* Manage records, routine correspondence, meetings and events to support team functions
* Collect, compile and prepare documentation in line with quality and organisational requirements
* Complete routine financial and purchasing transactions in accordance with agency standards and procedures
* Respond to enquiries, escalating and redirecting issues as required
* Update and maintain records and databases, ensuring accuracy and secure information storage
* Develop and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities and key stakeholders
What we’re looking for
* NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
In addition to the above essential requirement, the successful applicant will desirably possess
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* Experience managing records, correspondence and documentation
* Ability to manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision
