Description
Amazon is seeking Maintenance Technicians to join our growing Reliability, Maintenance & Engineering (RME) team at our site in Chullora, Sydney. As a maintenance technician, you'll keep our sites' operating safely and efficiently by maintaining and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging, and distribution machinery. You'll respond to breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and implement long‐term improvements to reduce downtime.
This is a rotating roster position working primarily Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00 but flexibility will be required at times to support shift gaps when other team members are on PTO or training in their 4‐day roster (10‐hour shifts). This role will be entitled to annual leave and penalty rates where applicable and be critical to keep 24/7 operations running.
Key job responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site.
* Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
* React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected teams and work efficiently to fix the issue.
* Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements through the line manager.
* Provide high levels of equipment availability to our internal customers.
* Support and learn from Senior Maintenance Technicians.
Day in the Life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to make sure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long‐term improvements. Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day‐to‐day maintenance tasks general building maintenance.

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keeps our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centres.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Formal trade qualifications: Certificate III in Electrotechnology with current electrical trade license or Certificate III in Engineering or Mechanical Trade (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
* Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems.
* Experience fault finding within Material Handling Equipment/Automation systems.
* Ability to read and understand electrical / mechanical drawings.
* Experience of conveyor maintenance, motor controllers/inverters.
* Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with CMMS systems.
* Experience with sortation machines.
* Experience with maintaining/configuring barcode scanners.
* Experience with print and apply machines.
