About the role
The Senior Communication and Engagement Officer provides strategic communication and engagement activities to strengthen organisational alignment and support corporate priorities.
They bring high level written and verbal communication skills and the ability to design targeted community education and customer engagement programs. They will be able to analyse customer and community feedback to improve customer and stakeholder outcomes and services.
The role requires building strong relationships and managing key stakeholders—including customer groups and government bodies—to deliver coordinated engagement and enhance customer experience and decision making.
Key responsibilities
* Develop communication strategies, consultation initiatives and public relations campaigns aligned with LMW's Corporate Strategy and Communication & Engagement Strategy.
* Gather customer insights and embed them into messaging and programs using IAP2 principles.
* Prepare high‑quality written communications for internal and external audiences.
* Work closely with government departments and other stakeholders to coordinate external communications.
* Implement LMW's Communication & Engagement Framework, Strategy and Toolkit.
* Support and manage customer committees.
* Develop and deliver community engagement programs.
About you
We're looking for people who have the following or the enthusiasm to learn:
* Qualifications in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or similar.
* Experience in a similar senior‑level role.
* IAP2 training (desirable).
* Knowledge of the urban and rural water industry (desirable).
* Proven experience developing communication campaigns and stakeholder management strategies.
* Experience delivering events and projects on time and within budget.
* High‑level written and verbal communication skills.
