About The Role

As Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk for the Business Bank, you will play a critical role in supporting safe and sustainable business growth by acting as a trusted partner who identifies risks early, provides clear and balanced advice, and enables leaders to make confident, risk‐aligned decisions. You will work closely with leaders across the Business Bank to strengthen risk culture, uplift capability and ensure obligations under the BOQ Group Risk Management Framework are met. Your responsibilities include overseeing governance processes, surfacing meaningful risk insights, monitoring emerging risks and maintaining the effectiveness of controls. Your remit spans operational, regulatory and conduct risk — guiding RCSAs, incidents, issues and remediation activity, while driving continuous improvement in how risks are identified, assessed and managed. As the Line 1 Risk representative in change and transformation initiatives, you will assess end‐to‐end risks, advise on control design and support readiness as new products, processes and systems are implemented. Your ability to balance risk and opportunity will help shape sustainable, well‐managed change. You will collaborate across product, credit, operational and risk teams to ensure risks are transparent, well understood and effectively managed – contributing to better outcomes for our customers, our people and the Group.
About You
You bring curiosity, commercial thinking and a strong understanding of operational and regulatory risk. You are comfortable navigating complex, highly regulated environments and confident engaging with senior leaders to influence well‐considered, balanced outcomes. You have deep experience in risk frameworks, governance and controls, and are skilled at uplifting capability, coaching others and supporting teams through change. Analytical and clear‐thinking, you translate risk insights into compelling narratives that support informed decision‐making. Organised, pragmatic and collaborative, you balance commercial awareness with disciplined governance and work effectively both autonomously and across diverse teams. You enjoy solving problems, building capability and helping others navigate emerging risks with integrity and confidence.
