We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Database Administrator for a 6 months contract (extendable) to join our growing team.
Qualifications:
● 5–7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in an enterprise environment.
● Strong hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Must Haves:
● Strong expertise in SQL Server and MySQL administration and performance tuning.
● Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
● Strong knowledge of database architecture, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
● Experience with backup and recovery strategies.
● Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
● Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills.
● Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
● Willingness to participate in on-call support.
Preferred:
● Experience with cloud database services (Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL).
● Experience in automation of DBA tasks.
● Exposure to large-scale or regulated enterprise environments.
Role & Responsibilities:
● Administer, monitor, and maintain relational (SQL Server, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
● Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
● Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
● Enforce database security policies, access controls, and best practices.
● Diagnose and resolve database-related incidents and system failures.
● Develop and implement automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.
● Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on deployments and migrations.
● Maintain accurate database documentation and SOPs.
● Provide on-call and out-of-hours support as required.
