About us
Our unit is a Maternity and Midwifery Group Practice model. Our Maternity service provides woman‐centred care, reflecting the needs of each woman within a safe and sustainable quality system. All women have access to evidenced based, culturally competent maternity care in a range of settings close to where they live. Appropriately trained and qualified maternity health professionals provide continuous or shared maternity care to women who meet the service capability of the Biloela and Banana areas.
About the role
The Clinical Midwives role is to lead and deliver person‐centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The Clinical Midwife (CM) is expected to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.
Responsibilities
* Provide advanced clinical support across all areas of antenatal, birthing, postnatal and inpatient care.
* Provide clinical expertise, support and education to women, families and staff within the model to ensure best practice and quality patient care.
* Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to quality processes and evidence‐based practices.
Qualifications
* Proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Midwife (RM).
* Current registration or eligibility to register as a nurse with the NMBA/AHPRA is mandatory.
* Appointees must work under the Caseload Midwifery Industrial Agreement, including variable hours, on‐call, an annualised salary arrangement with 35% loading and 6 weeks recreation leave.
* While not mandatory, working towards or completion of a postgraduate qualification in a related specialty will be well regarded.
Salary and Benefits
Total remuneration value of up to $181,242 p.a. (including additional 35% case load allowance) is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $75.71 - $81.11 p.h. (including additional 35% case load allowance)
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
* 17.5% leave loading
