Hedger Constructions is a multi award-winning, family-owned building company specialising in luxury custom homes and high-quality residential construction across Melbourne and regional Victoria. With increased demand from local projects and fire rebuilds, we are looking for an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team.
About the Role
As a Leading Hand Carpenter, you will take responsibility for running residential sites, coordinating trades and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to our high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities
* Lead and mentor carpenters and apprentices
* Ensure works are completed to plan, on time and to specification
* Liaise with supervisors, management, trades and suppliers
* Maintain high standards of safety, quality control and site presentation
* Must possess current construction white card
* Problem-solve and manage workflow to keep projects moving
About You
* Qualified Carpenter with strong residential building experience
* Minimum 8-10 years of carpentry experience required
* Must hold recognised trade qualification in carpentry
* Australian citizenship required
* Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Site Supervisor preferred
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
* Organised, proactive and reliable
