Maternal and Child Health Nurse Opportunity
Mildura Rural City Council is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to contribute to the delivery of high-quality community health services as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in supporting families with children aged 0–6 years through health promotion, early intervention, and immunisation programs.
You will play a vital role in monitoring child development, supporting breastfeeding, and connecting families with essential services—all while gaining hands-on experience and building your professional capabilities.
* AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse and Midwife
* Current enrolment in a postgraduate Maternal & Child Health Nursing course
* Passion for child development and family wellbeing
* Strong communication and documentation skills
* Understanding of Child Safe Standards and relevant legislation
* Willingness to obtain International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Immunisation Provider certification
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
* Sensitivity to multicultural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* A current driver's licence, police check, and Working with Children Check
About the Opportunity
This part-time temporary position offers flexible hours and access to the Study Support Program. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build your professional capabilities while supporting Mildura families with expert care, health promotion, and early childhood development.
The successful applicant will have a genuine passion for child development and family wellbeing, and will be able to demonstrate strong communication and documentation skills. They will also be willing to undergo training and certification to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Immunisation Provider.
