About the Role
As we embark on an exciting phase of growth and transformation, we have created a new opportunity within our finance division for a Senior Tax Specialist. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will ensure accurate and timely lodgement of tax obligations (including BAS, FBT, GST, Payroll Tax, and Income Tax), maintain robust compliance records, and support statutory and group reporting requirements.
You'll play a key role in tax accounting and reconciliation, preparing tax provisions in line with AASB and IFRS standards, and assisting with annual tax planning and forecasting cycles. The position also involves supporting tax audits, liaising with the ATO and external advisors, and reviewing international tax returns across SUEZ entities.
A strong collaborator, you'll work closely with finance and operational teams to gather data, streamline tax processes, and communicate key legislative updates. You'll also contribute to process improvements and provide local tax input into group initiatives, including restructuring, M&A, and global compliance programs (including CbCR and Pillar Two).
About You
With a completed bachelor's degree in taxation, Accounting, Finance or related field, you ideally have 6-8 years taxation experience gained in a compliance or advisory role. You have worked for tier 1 or mid-tier professional services accounting firms, coupled with experience gained in an international law firm or complex global multinational.
You have a sound understanding of Australian Taxation legislation rulings and compliance obligations and some knowledge of international taxation principles is preferred. Recognised tax qualifications would be highly advantageous. You are proficient in accounting software such as SAP, oracle and Excel. You have advanced problem-solving skills, and value attention to detail.
