The Administrative Assistant is often the first point-of-contact for persons who call or visit the school. The Assistant must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, be welcoming to a variety of school constituents and maintain a sense of calm in a busy office with multiple interruptions. The Assistant facilitates the day-to-day office operations and responds to requests for information or assistance from students, parents, volunteers and staff. The Assistant manages medical information relative to student enrollment and compliance, acts as a triage nurse to support students with minor cuts, bruises, etc., and supports on-going Admissions processes and activities. The Assistant must be able to work independently with indirect supervision while cooperating with a multidisciplinary team of students, parents, volunteers and staff. The Assistant reports to the Head of School and performs duties in support of all staff members.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma
* Working knowledge with reception, clerical and administrative duties. Previous experience in a school setting is preferred
* Detail oriented, organized and efficient at multi-tasking
* Ability to prioritize duties and follow through with requests and projects in a timely manner
* Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate
* Working knowledge and an ability to operate and maintain basic office equipment including telephone system, copier, laminator and computers
* Willingness to engage in training and ultimately oversee the use of the school's database and other information systems as necessary to support students, staff, and the administrative team.
* Working knowledge and ability to navigate the school's chosen database, all things Google Suite, whole school Google Calendar, school website, school social media accounts.
* Ability to lift 30 pounds from ground to chest
