Head of Equity Research – Australian & International Equities A rare and influential leadership opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced equities research executive to lead and shape a high‑performing research function across both
Australian and International Equities. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of
qualitative insight, quantitative rigour, and portfolio construction leadership .
The Role
Lead a multi‑asset research function
that blends traditional fundamental analysis with
robust quantitative tools and screening methodologies .
Oversee portfolio construction
across both
Australian
and
International Equities, ensuring alignment with house philosophy, risk parameters, and investment objectives.
Refine the firm’s portfolio construction philosophy, including frameworks for risk assessment, stress testing, and performance monitoring.
Drive continual improvement in research standards, adopting global best practices and championing the effective use of technology, data, and analytics.
Manage, mentor, and develop
the Australian Equity Research team, fostering a collaborative and high‑accountability culture.
Partner with senior investment leaders to influence strategy, optimise processes, and contribute to superior investment outcomes.
The Person
Extensive experience applying
quantitative frameworks, screening tools, and analytical methods
within an equities research or portfolio management environment.
Strong technical understanding of
risk modelling, scenario analysis, and stress testing, and how these support portfolio construction and ongoing oversight.
Proven leadership capability with experience managing senior analysts or research teams.
A track record of improving research processes, raising analytical standards, and embedding technology‑driven enhancements.
At least 15 years' experience
in equities research, portfolio construction, or related investment leadership roles.
Excellent communication, stakeholder influence, and the ability to operate at executive and Board‑facing levels.
