Job Title: Molecular Biologist Researcher
The Martins Lab is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Research Assistant II to work on NIH-funded projects focused on developing immune interventions against HIV/AIDS using nonhuman primate animal models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and immunology, with excellent research skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Protein Expression and Purification: Design, express, and purify recombinant proteins for use in experiments.
* ELISA and Cell Culture: Perform ELISA assays and maintain cell cultures for protein expression and experimentation.
* Data Analysis and Interpretation: Collect and analyze data from experiments, interpreting results and drawing conclusions.
* Experimental Design and Execution: Assist in designing and executing experiments to test hypotheses and achieve research goals.
* Scientific Writing and Communication: Assist in writing scientific reports and communicating results to colleagues and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry) and three years of experience; or a Master's degree and two or more years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with protein expression and purification techniques.
* Familiarity with ELISA assays and cell culture techniques.
* Background in molecular biology and immunology.
