About the Role
Gough Recruitment are working with a long standing client which is a leading builder–developer with a strong pipeline of large-scale residential projects across Sydney. They are seeking a Design Manager to join their Pre-Construction team. The business delivers complex Class 2 high-rise residential projects and offers long-term career opportunities with a reliable pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage design coordination across multiple Class 2 residential projects.
- Oversee consultant teams to ensure compliance with approvals, codes, and authority requirements.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including councils, certifiers, Sydney Water, and transport authorities.
- Provide buildability and value engineering input during design development.
- Ensure deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with budgets and construction methodology.
- Collaborate with project, construction, and development teams to ensure seamless delivery.
About You
- 5+ years’ experience in design management or coordination within construction or property.
- Proven background in high-rise residential (Class 2) projects.
- Strong understanding of planning approvals, building codes, and authority processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
