The role
An Opportunity is available to join my team of wonderful Youth Workers who help to facilitate my daily life. My support workers assist me on a 2:1 at all times.
I enjoy going to the library to play video games and shopping, and these activities help me feel more grounded and connected.
I am seeking a Youth Worker who is wanting to join a team environment. I'm looking for Youth Workers who are kind, compassionate, and expressive people who enjoy laughter, creativity, and connecting through shared interests. The right person for me would love gaming, spending time at the library, and playing with toy cars. Ideal youth workers will be enthusiastic about joining in these activities, whether it's helping explore new games, finding cool books, or setting up imaginative car tracks. Key responsibilities
* Work as part of a team to deliver high quality care to young people in a residential facility.
* Direct service work with young people in the program.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of a safe, secure and planned environment wherein the young person's developmental needs are effectively met as per program guidelines.
* Understand the impact of trauma on behaviours of children in care.
* Implement current practices in therapeutic interventions for children in care with regard to trauma and attachment.
* Contribute to the development of a comprehensive education/living skills for the young people.
* Undertake designated case functions and tasks as per individual client plans.
* Provide opportunities for the development of resident young people's social and recreational skills.
* Liaise with schools, DHS, Centrelink, and other relevant agencies regarding matters in relation to individual young people.
* Meet administrative and documentation requirements of the agency.
* General household tasks including shopping, cooking, maintenance and cleaning.
Shifts
I am looking for someone to support me on a part time basis. My shifts are generally but not limited to 06:15‑14:30, 14:15‑23:30, 22:15‑06:30.
The ideal candidate will have
* NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
* Current Driver's Licence
* Current First Aid Certificate
* Current CPR
* Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family intervention or other relevant qualification
About you
I am looking for a creative and positive person to join my team. A good match for me would be someone who has an efficient and confident approach in what they do and possesses a calm and patient nature. I can do all my own personal hygiene, but it would great if you could support me with extra prompting to do this. I would also like you to role model in household activities such as cleaning, washing, cooking and meal preparation.
Other requirements
* Experience working with people who have experience with high behaviours of concern's
* Ability to implement individualised developmental programs.
* Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
* Experience in various models of support preferred.
* Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service delivery.
