IXOM plays a vital part in the lives of tens of millions of people every day. We're the experts behind the scenes, who ensure safe and reliable access and help industries, businesses and local communities to thrive.

Our products, services and solutions are used across many end markets, including dairy, agriculture, viticulture, electricity, steel, food and beverage, pulp and paper, mining and construction, and water treatment (just to name a few).

We are supported by over 1,300 people globally and our operations span across four continents and nine countries, with headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.

About your role

Located in Melbourne or Sydney, this role spans IXOM's ChlorAlkali Water & Energy and Watercare businesses, focusing on accelerating sales of source water treatment solutions—particularly the Solarbee and EarthTec product ranges. It involves both expanding IXOM's existing customer base and developing new opportunities. Leveraging IXOM's broad technical portfolio, you will drive adoption of innovative technologies and deliver value through tailored water treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Generate leads through customer interactions such as site visits, calls, conferences, and marketing initiatives.
* Monitor customer trials and conduct technical testing and reporting to support adoption of Solarbee and EarthTec products.
* Prepare and present tailored sales proposals, maintain communication on order updates, and follow up to close sales opportunities.
* Build market maps and provide market intelligence to inform pricing, product development, and strategic planning.
* Act as a subject matter expert during trials, site visits, and training, resolving technical queries and supporting safe chemical handling.
* Prepare and submit detailed sales quotes and proposals, aligning product features with customer needs through technical analysis and understanding of product capabilities and limitations.
* Ensure all supplier and product-related SH&E requirements are met in line with Ixom's safety policies and close out actions with thorough root cause analysis.
* Use CRM systems to manage sales pipelines, maintain accurate customer data, and support reporting and forecasting.

Who are we looking for?

* Tertiary qualification in engineering or science preferred.
* Proven self-starter with a successful track record in chemical and/or equipment sales.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in technical sales within the water treatment industry or similar.
* Strong knowledge of the Australian municipal water and wastewater treatment market.
* Proven success in commercialising and driving adoption of new products or technologies.
* Solid understanding of chemical applications, formulations, and water treatment processes.
* Demonstrated B2B technical sales experience, including account management and sales closure.
* Commercial acumen in lead generation, customer engagement, pricing, forecasting, and negotiation.
* Available for interstate travel to deliver conference presentations
* Energetic, personable, and customer-focused with strong relationship-building and time management skills.
