The role
As Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, effective, and compliant delivery of financial accounting across TasPorts and its subsidiaries. This role supports strategic decision making and performance insights, while contributing to improved internal service delivery within the Corporate Services division.
Key Duties
* Deliver timely financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
* Prepare annual financial statements, month-end reports, and external compliance reporting.
* Maintain financial governance, including reconciliations and asset register accuracy.
* Support tax compliance across FBT, GST, and income tax obligations.
* Assist with working capital, debt, and treasury management.
* Contribute to Board and Audit Committee reporting.
* Drive improvements in financial systems, processes, and reporting.
* Undertake project work and other duties as required.
What You Bring
* 5+ years' experience in a finance role with strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
What You'll Have
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* CAANZ or CPA certification.
* Current driver's licence.
* Ability to obtain and hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
