Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead our regional structural engineering solutions. As a key member, you will be responsible for effective and commercially valuable projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide advanced civil engineering services to Network Regional West and achieve objectives against specified Key Performance Indicators.
* Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance, and review of long-term asset management plans.
* Certify civil engineering works and ensure compliance with safety, operational, and environmental legislation, regulations, and practices.
* Conduct engineering and technical investigations and prepare reports on asset safety, condition, and reliability issues.
* Develop and implement predictive asset condition modelling tools to improve the reliability and life cycle cost of civil assets.
* Ensure technical records, condition data, and incident data for civil assets are maintained up to date in SAP.
Requirements:
* Experience in rail infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance with a strong understanding of impacts on reliability, service, and safety.
* Proven technical expertise in civil asset maintenance and renewals delivering strategic, budget-conscious engineering solutions with minimal operational disruption.
* Strong analytical and planning skills including asset reliability, cost-benefit analysis, root cause investigation, and effective stakeholder communication.
* Demonstrated ability to meet statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements integrating safety, environmental, and commercial considerations to drive innovative outcomes.
Education and Certification:
* Bachelor of Engineering in Civil
* Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) certification in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
Travel and Hours:
This position requires regular travel across Western Queensland to support engineering inspections and provide technical assistance for critical defects. You must be able to travel and while hours may vary during travel periods the role operates on a standard 76-hour fortnight.
