Quality Assurance Coordinator – 12 Month Contract
About the Company
Our client is a leading player in the FMCG food industry, known for delivering high-quality products to both local and international markets. With a strong focus on compliance, safety, and continuous improvement, they are looking for a skilled Quality Assurance Coordinator to join their team on a 12-month contract. This company is a well-established FMCG business with a proud history in Australia’s food industry. From sourcing and packaging through to compliance and distribution, they’re trusted to deliver products that end up on tables across the country.
The Role
Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting and maintaining quality assurance processes across the business. This includes managing customer complaints, supporting audits, overseeing documentation, coordinating product testing, and ensuring compliance with HACCP, FSANZ, and ACCC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and respond to customer complaints and quality issues in a timely manner
- Support internal and external audits, including GWP audits
- Prepare and review quality documentation, including SOPs, product specifications, and approval forms
- Conduct sampling, product testing, and verification activities
- Assist with product approvals, labelling compliance, and packaging review
- Provide support in the event of recalls and repacking activities
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with company standards
- Ensure compliance with OH&S;, HACCP, and regulatory requirements
About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings both technical knowledge and practical experience. You will ideally have:
- A qualification in food science or a related discipline
- 5+ years’ experience in quality assurance within the FMCG food industry
- Strong knowledge of WQA, SQF, HACCP, and regulatory standards (FSANZ, ACCC, weights & measures, labelling)
- Experience conducting audits and investigations within prescribed frameworks
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- A collaborative and proactive approach with strong attention to detail
