Building Supplies Store Lead
We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee daily operations in our fast-paced building supplies industry store. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, as well as hands-on leadership experience in retail, logistics, or building supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Customer Relationship Management: Develop long-term relationships with builders, contractors, and retail customers. Effectively resolve customer complaints and negotiate with suppliers and trade partners.
* Operations and Logistics: Manage stock control, prioritize deliveries, and optimize delivery schedules using available resources. Apply knowledge of load limits, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and safe transport practices.
* Safety and Compliance: Enforce WHS standards across the workplace, training staff in manual handling, load restraint, and safe machinery use. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and CoR.
* Industry Knowledge: Understand timber grades, treatments, and building products, providing expert advice to builders, tradies, and DIY customers.
* Financial Acumen: Monitor margins and profitability, managing trade credit accounts and payment terms while controlling costs in logistics, freight, and staffing.
