Lead Prosthetic & Orthotic Care in a Major Tertiary Hospital
Join a high-performing allied health team delivering advanced prosthetic and orthotic care across Metro South. This senior role combines complex clinical work, leadership, and service improvement in a major tertiary hospital setting. This role is temporary full time from February 2026 until January 2027.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Prosthetist/Orthotist (HP4), you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based prosthetic and orthotic services within Princess Alexandra Hospital and Metro South Health. Working as part of a highly skilled interprofessional team, you'll manage complex clinical cases, provide expert advice, and contribute to service development, education, and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

* Delivering advanced prosthetic and orthotic assessment, intervention, and evaluation for complex patient presentations
* Acting as a clinical reference point within the Prosthetic and Orthotic team
* Providing supervision, education, and support to HP3 clinicians, students, and Allied Health Assistants
* Contributing to service development, quality improvement, and research activities

About You
You are an experienced Prosthetist/Orthotist who thrives in complex clinical environments and enjoys supporting others to grow. You bring strong clinical judgement, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine commitment to improving patient care. You will have:

* Demonstrated high-level expertise in prosthetic and orthotic clinical practice
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
* Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and prioritise in a fast-paced hospital setting
* Experience in supervision, mentoring, or clinical education of junior staff and students

Princess Alexandra Hospital:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
