Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) is a state high school that specialises in supporting young people aged 15 to 18 (minimum Year 10), who have significant barriers to accessing mainstream education, ensuring all students can succeed.
An opportunity exists for a temporary full time acting Head of Department Senior Schooling until 12 December 2025 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based in Metropolitan West (Bundamba and Goodna campuses). We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Head of Department Senior Schooling who can make a genuine difference to the lives of our students.
About the Role
A key part of the role involves assisting with the operation and compliance of the College's Registered Training Organisation (RTO), maintaining alignment with national standards and supporting the delivery of high-quality vocational education and training (VET) programs. The HOD will actively monitor, track and analyse academic and vocational data, including QCE Tracking, to drive continuous improvement, inform decision-making, and implement timely interventions for students at risk of disengagement or not achieving certification.
This position provides support across all nine campuses within the College, requiring a collaborative, flexible, and proactive approach to working with staff, students, and families. The successful candidate will also contribute to the professional development of teaching teams, foster partnerships with external agencies and training providers, and play a key role in promoting a culture of post-school success.
