We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team of Youth Mentors, working closely with young people aged 6-17 years old. As a Youth Mentor, you will play a vital role in shaping the lives of these remarkable individuals, helping them develop essential life skills and achieve their full potential.
About the Role
This casual position offers a flexible schedule, with opportunities to work after school or on weekends. You will be matched with a child or young person based on shared interests, personality, and skill base, ensuring a strong foundation for a positive and productive mentoring relationship.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Establishing positive relationships with peers and adults, modelling healthy interactions and behaviours.
* Providing pathways to increased opportunities in education, employment, and community connections.
* Accessing and facilitating recreational and sporting activities that promote social and emotional growth.
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a Cert III in Child, Youth, Family, or Community Services, or relevant life experience. A current First Aid Certificate and 'Safe Environments – Through Their Eyes' certification are also required.
Please note that successful candidates will undergo probity checks, including National Criminal History Record Check, NDIS Check, and South Australian Working with Children Check.
