We are hiring a Senior Systems Software Engineer -Industrial AI to help build, deploy, and improve real-world industrial AI systems at Bigmate.
This role is for someone who wants more than a narrow software engineering position. You will work across software, systems, deployment, support, and real-world problem-solving.
You will be close to the technology, close to customers, close to senior engineers, and close to the outcomes your work creates.
You will help deliver industrial AI systems from development through to deployment. That means hands‐on software development, technical problem‐solving, testing, documentation, client conversations, field realities, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
We are looking for someone who wants to learn quickly, take ownership, and grow into broader technical responsibility.

Bigmate builds AI, computer vision, sensing, and safety technology for industrial environments.
Our systems help companies understand risk, detect hazards, improve safety, and make better decisions in real time. We work in environments where the work is physical, complex, and high consequence. Including mine sites, industrial yards, logistics operations, and other live operating environments.
This is not pure SaaS. This is not lab‐only AI. Our software has to work in the real world, around machines, vehicles, people, dust, heat, network constraints, sensors, cameras, and operational pressure.

What You'll Do
* Design, develop, and maintain software, especially in C++
* Contribute to the design, build, deployment, validation, and support of industrial AI systems
* Work with computer vision, machine learning, sensors, edge devices, and real‐world industrial systems
* Contribute to Bigmate's growing machine learning, computer vision, edge intelligence, and agentic systems capability, with the opportunity to learn and grow into deeper ownership over time
* Help turn business and client requirements into practical engineering execution
* Participate in technical discussions and contribute practical ideas
* Build, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and improve systems used in live industrial environments
* Support deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system validation
* Travel occasionally to mine sites or industrial sites, usually for a night or two
* Work directly with clients through meetings, calls, support interactions, and system reviews
* Produce clear technical documentation
* Take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion
* Work closely with senior technical leaders and help lift the engineering team around you
What We're Looking For
* Strong C++ experience
* Solid software engineering experience in production environments
* Experience with Git / GitLab workflows
* Experience with Docker
* Exposure to AWS or similar cloud platforms
* Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non‐technical people
* Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and domains quickly
We would value experience with:

* Edge computing

* Sensor‐based systems
* Site commissioning or customer support
* LiDAR, cameras, telematics, or safety systems
