Working alongside the Production and Inventory Control (P⁣) and the Industrial teams, this role reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will be involved across a number of different functional areas.
The Planner/Buyer will be required to perform both Planner / Purchasing activities, whilst also assisting with completion RFQ responses for both internal and external customers. At the same time, the role has strong elements of project management as you will assist the program managers with both planning and current active projects
**Role & Responsibilities**:
- Undertake purchasing activities relating to MPS / BOM items
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and LEAN Manufacturing activities.
- Perform Import and Export control activities as required.
- Assist with co-ordinating and preparing RFQ responses for review - Support with Project related functions, administration and reporting
- From the Master Production Schedule (MPS), plan and execute purchase orders and monitor to meet MPS and customer deliveries.
- Plan pre-purchasing activities with Engineering or new product development area to ensure commencement of production is not delayed and MPS is met.
- Work with supplier on vendor schedules
- Expedite and de-expedite purchase orders to meet MPS - Obtain supplier pricing and deliveries
- Preparing detailed costing against customer scope of work
- Complete quoting activities against given time line
- Purchase items under the guidance of the Senior Purchasing Officer - Complete quality records in accordance with the Quality Management system and training.
- Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and framework and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimising accidental exposures to self, colleagues, visitors and/or the workplace
**Ideally you will possess**:
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment with the ability to understand and interpret manufacturing interrelationships and work at a highly detailed level.
- Experience in a planning role, within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with a manufacturing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, such as SAP or BPCS (or similar)
**Good to Know**
- As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
- International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
- Prior to offer you'll complete a pre-employment police and medical.
