ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is part of the Aboriginal Employment Plan that supports William Angliss Institute's Wurreker Strategy and Reconciliation Action Plan in promoting and supporting employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
This position will provide advice and support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, contributing to the coordination of growth strategies, business development and the development of productive relationships between the Koorie Education Support Unit and the broader Institute, local First Peoples community groups and organisations within metro Melbourne as well as regional and rural areas.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
* Coordinate the development, delivery, resource organisation and student administration for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs.
* Liaise with relevant First Peoples communities, groups, organisations, government departments, RTOs, VAEAI and LAECG and other to assist with the identification of education and training needs, trends and priorities, particularly at the local level.
* Identify a range of relevant funding sources, preparing and completing submissions for their successful acquisition.
* Coordinate community initiatives effectively and profitably in addition to coordination of individual projects.
* Devise and coordinate suitable publicity activities to attract/recruit students into programs, in conjunction with marketing department;
* Design and manage the training programs to be delivered by staff, in conjunction with relevant Institute department and both Institute employed trainers and contractors.
* Oversee the delivery of all Koorie Education Support Unit programs including budget management and working with the Institute trainers.
* Prepare regular reports on the activities of the Koorie Education Support Unit and programs, including outcomes, revenue, expenses and estimated budget outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.

* An understanding of the Education environment and government requirements.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to contribute to and be a part of cross-departmental teams, and communicate effectively with employees, students, community, and industry.
* A formal qualification with experience with management expertise in technical or administrative fields.
* Demonstrated behaviours that align with the William Angliss Institute Values.
