Job Description – Family Law Legal Assistant / Paralegal
The Family Law Legal Assistant / Paralegal will provide high-level administrative and paralegal support to the firm's Family Law team. The role involves managing file workflow, preparing legal documents and correspondence, liaising with clients and external stakeholders, and ensuring the efficient progression of family law matters from commencement to finalisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare and draft legal documents including Initiating Applications, Affidavits, Consent Orders, Financial Statements, and correspondence.
* Manage family law files from client intake to completion under supervision of senior lawyers.
* Liaise professionally with clients, Counsel, experts, and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
* Maintain and update file records, calendars, and court timetables.
* Assist with disclosure processes, evidence collation, and preparation of court bundles and briefs to Counsel.
* Coordinate client meetings, mediations, and court attendances.
* Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
* Assist with billing, trust accounting entries, and cost recovery tasks.
* Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional office culture.

Senior Family Lawyer / Principal Solicitor
Software / Systems:
LEAP (or equivalent practice management system), Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, Family Court eFiling system
