We're looking for a Senior Storage Engineer to join our team supporting a key client in Geelong. This is a hands-on role focused on enterprise storage, backup, and performance across a complex environment.
This role is onsite in Geelong full-time for the first 3 months, transitioning to a hybrid arrangement thereafter.
You'll also be part of an on-call roster (approximately every 3–4 weeks), with a standby allowance plus paid overtime for any call-outs, providing a meaningful uplift to your overall earnings.
What you'll be doing
* Supporting and maintaining enterprise storage platforms, including Dell EMC Unity SAN and PowerScale NAS
* Managing backup and recovery solutions (Dell Avamar, PowerProtect Data Manager) to ensure strong DR capability
* Performing storage upgrades, patching, and firmware management across complex environments including VxRail
* Troubleshooting and resolving storage performance issues across SAN/NAS environments
* Supporting VMware and infrastructure layers to maintain system performance and reliability
* Providing onsite support and travelling between sites as required
What we're looking for
* Strong hands-on experience with enterprise storage (SAN/NAS)
* Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues in storage environments
* Experience with Dell EMC technologies (Unity, PowerScale, VxRail highly desirable)
* Solid background in backup and recovery solutions and DR testing
* Exposure to VMware and broader infrastructure environments
* Experience with SAN configuration, disk replacement, and vendor support processes
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP, routing, topologies)
About you
* 5+ years' experience in storage or infrastructure engineering
* Comfortable in hands-on, operational environments
* Strong communication skills and team mindset
* ITIL Foundation (or similar)
* Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between sites
