**The Opportunity**
To develop, implement and review strategic planning documents, programs and projects in accordance with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and the Local Government Act 1993. This position provides technical strategic planning advice to other areas of Council and the public.
**Key Accountabilities**
Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:
- Provide professional advice to other areas of Council and the community in relation to strategic planning matters.
- Supervise consultants undertaking strategic planning projects as required.
- Develop, implement and monitor programs and projects relating to strategic planning.
- Prepare and review Planning Proposals and other planning instruments for the Yass Valley.
**Essential Requirements**
- A tertiary qualification in urban and regional planning or a related discipline, or nearing completion of studies.
- A current class "C" driver's licence.
