About The Role

As Postdoctoral Fellow (Ovarian Cancer) you will lead a program of research in ovarian cancer using existing data within projects at Cancer Council Queensland. This includes 1) a large Australian cohort of women with ovarian cancer and extensive data linked to health and administrative datasets, and 2) a long-running trial of women with ovarian cancer randomised to exercise therapy added to usual care versus usual care alone. The analyses will drive a body of work to answer critical questions that will address cancer-related morbidity and improve quality of life and survival following ovarian cancer.

This role is a two year Fixed-Term, Full-time position (37.5 hours per week).

About You

To be successful in this role you will bring:


* Completion of a PhD in statistics, epidemiology, public health or other relevant health science
* Demonstrated evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
* Demonstrated high-level organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
* An understanding of ethical principles as they relate to research conduct.

In addition, the following experience and skills will be well regarded, but are not essential:
* Experience in a cancer research role.
* Previous experience in a role involving one-on-one communication with the public, health professionals or policy makers.
* Experience in conducting interviews.
* Experience using digital research and referencing tools such as Endnote, Zotero, Covidence, Qualtrics, NVivo, SPSS, R, Mplus, STATA, SAS and/or similar.
