This is a very exciting career opportunity for a talented Viticulturalist to assist our Winemaker Sarah Fagan, in carrying TWE wines into a new era of excellence and success, as a leading producer of Yarra Valley Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah.
Reporting to the General Manager and an integral member of the TWE Management team, you will be dedicated to the delivery of the company’s philosophy, through a hands-on role overseeing two exceptional vineyard sites.
Compromising of 37 hectares across a diversity of soil types and elevations, Tarrawarra aims to farm using sustainable, traditional practices. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a respected and progressive viticulture operation, geared to quality, with significant resources at your disposal.
The role is required to work across both the TarraWarra Estate and Swallowfield Vineyards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Development, management, and impartment of a pro-active, future proofing TWE viticultural strategy that embraces a culture of wine and viticultural excellence.
• Identification of opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Oversight of new vineyard development/re-developments to ensure maximum quality and efficiency outcomes and the protection of heritage material as appropriate
• Author an annual vineyard plan.
• Maintain up to date learnings of viticulture.
• Day-to-day operational and budgetary management of TWE & Swallowfield Vineyard, including the procurement and preventative maintenance of equipment; OH&S; and biosecurity
• Write, understand, and manage the annual expense budget for both TWE and Swallowfield Vineyards.
• Driving sustainable vineyard practices, implementing new methods, and managing related certifications (SWA).
• Strategic leadership and guidance of the TWE vineyard team
• Company representation at trade and industry events.
• Communicate vineyard happenings with the TWE sales team on a fortnightly basis.
