Fremantle Hospital is seeking to appoint experienced Mental Health Nurses who thrive in a team environment and bring compassion, resilience, clinical and professional expertise to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to our patients. You'll be working in a dynamic environment knowing your skills are valued and your growth is supported.

This is a recruitment pool for Permanent Full Time / Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time / Part Time and Casual appointments with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency with contract start dates from May 2026.

About the role

As a mental health nurse at Fremantle Hospital, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, compassionate care across a range of inpatient and community settings. Your contributions will be vital in creating a supportive and healing environment for those in need of mental health services.

The role will involve:

* Delivering comprehensive evidence-based nursing practice and individual recovery focussed care.
* Working closely with a multidisciplinary team to plan and implement treatment.
* Supporting patients through recovery, and ongoing treatment plan.
* Promoting patient safety and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

You'll be working in a dynamic environment knowing your skills are valued and your growth is supported.

South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Mental Health is one of Western Australia's largest public mental health providers. Care is delivered from youth to older adults through inpatient, outpatient, and community services at Fiona Stanley, Fremantle, Rockingham General hospitals and Peel Health Campus, plus a network of community centres.

Eligibility

Are you eligible? To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

* Appointments may be made from this pool until 01 March 2027.
