Job Opportunity
This is a unique chance for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join a reputable organization in Darwin. As an experienced professional, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, pavers, bitumen sprayers, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and repair heavy vehicles, pavers, bitumen sprayers, and related equipment.
* Provide field support across the NT - accommodations and meals are covered while you're away.
* Perform scheduled servicing, breakdown repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.
* Manage spare parts, complete maintenance logs, and follow safety protocols.
* Operate both independently and alongside road crews in challenging environments.
Requirements:
* 5+ years' experience as a heavy vehicle or diesel mechanic.
* 3+ years' experience in bituminous surfacing or road construction.
* Experience with Volvo, Hino, Scania, Mercedes, DAF, Schaefer, or Secmair.
* Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or recognized equivalent.
* An HR Licence (minimum) — HC preferred.
* A Forklift Licence (ideally) — White Card (we can aid you in obtaining this).
* First Aid & CPR (advantageous).
* Ability to work weekend hours, travel regionally, and operate in rugged environments.
* Reliable, motivated, with a strong problem-solving mindset.
