Position Overview
The Health and Wellbeing Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Health, Recreation and Wellbeing team and will ensure that arange of active and passive purposeful and meaningful activity is facilitated within the Centre. They will also provide oversight and management of volunteers and external providers as well as the Peer Educator program.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of experience in leadership, team development, strategic contribution, innovation, program coordination and delivery.
• Relevant Qualification in a field related to Health, Fitness and Wellbeing
• Demonstrated knowledge in delivering services relating to recreation and wellbeing in accordance with contractual obligations, relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, analyse complex problems, plan, set objectives and meet deadlines and commitments
• Ability to lead and participate in outdoor activities and assist others
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to manage and lead a team of diverse and multi-disciplined professionals
• Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team which involves direct contact with prisoners
• A commitment to GEO’s overarching goal of reducing reoffending and fostering personal development and enhanced wellbeing among prisoners
This role requires a commitment to fostering positive relationships with prisoners, staff, and external stakeholders while ensuring safety, security, and compliance with relevant regulations. A satisfactory security and police clearance will be necessary for this position.

Fulham Correctional Centre is the largest privately managed prison facility in rural Victoria, located in Fulham. With a focus on rehabilitation and reintegration, the Centre manages a population of up to 1049 male prisoners, including an 84 bed Nalu Transition Community Program. Our mission is to provide offenders with the opportunity to engage in work, education, and transformative programs that address the root causes of criminal behaviour.
