Hands-On Leadership Across a 10-Acre Hotel Property
Quality Hotel Robertson Gardens is a 138-room hotel set across 10 acres of landscaped grounds on Brisbane's southside, with an on-site restaurant and function facilities.
We are seeking a reliable and practical Hotel Grounds & Maintenance Supervisor to take ownership of the day-to-day upkeep of our buildings and gardens.
This is a working leadership role — you will lead and work alongside a small maintenance team to ensure the property is well-maintained, well-presented and operating smoothly.
About the Role
You will oversee general maintenance and grounds upkeep across guest rooms, public areas, plant equipment, and outdoor spaces.
You will coordinate daily workloads, prepare team rosters to ensure appropriate coverage (including weekends), and oversee and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to ensure issues are identified early and addressed promptly.
This role requires someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable balancing hands-on tasks with team supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support a small maintenance team
* Prepare and manage weekly maintenance team rosters to ensure efficient operational coverage
* Carry out hands-on repairs (basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, door locks, minor electrical test & tag etc.)
* Oversee lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas across the property
* Assist with pool maintenance
* Coordinate and supervise contractors when required
* Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests
* Maintain maintenance logs and ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed on schedule
* Order supplies and manage maintenance stock levels
* Ensure workshop, equipment, and storage areas are kept clean and organised
About You
You will bring:
* Previous experience in hotel, property, facilities, or grounds maintenance
* Experience supervising or leading a small team
* Ability to prepare and manage team rosters
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
* A hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving
* Confidence coordinating external contractors
* Good communication skills
* Basic computer skills for logging jobs and maintaining records
* A current manual driver's licence
* Flexibility to work weekends as required
Landscaping or gardening experience will be highly regarded.
