Regulatory Support Officer - Child Safeguarding
Overview
A unique opportunity exists for an experienced administration officer to support the important work of the Early Childhood Regulatory Authority's Child Safeguarding team, a specialist regulatory team responsible for the assessment and investigation of allegations of sexual abuse and misconduct in early childhood education and care services.
The Regulatory Support Officer will assist the team with file management and record keeping, preparation of correspondence and investigation documentation, data entry and reporting, and arranging appointments, meetings and travel. The role is based in Brisbane, with flexible arrangements possible depending on operational requirements.
Applicants should be aware that the role involves engaging with information and materials relating to allegations of child sexual abuse.
About The Role
The Regulatory Support Officer will support the team\'s leadership staff with administration duties relating to the team\'s targeted response work, including:
* Queensland\'s contribution to the national response to the Australian Children\'s Education & Care Quality Authority\'s Child Safety Review
* Queensland\'s continuing response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
* Queensland\'s implementation of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme
The Regulatory Support Officer will also support the team\'s regulatory staff on a day-to-day basis by:
* Assisting in the preparation of correspondence, including acknowledgement letters, requests for information, and invitations to interview
* Assisting with responses to external requests for information, including freedom of information requests, media requests, and Ministerial requests
* Assisting in the preparation of investigation documentation, including run sheets, evidence lists, and interview summaries
* Registering incoming referrals to the team, and liaising with regional regulatory staff around preliminary inquiries
* Escalating incoming matters to the Manager, Child Safeguarding as necessary
* Keeping team work trackers up to date and monitoring the progress of team action items
* File management and data entry in relevant regulatory systems, and producing reports from that data
* Arranging appointments, meetings, travel and receiving visitors
The role reports to the Director, Child Safeguarding. There may be opportunities to work flexibly based on operational requirements.

* Initiative and problem-solving skills — ability to work independently to complete tasks to a high standard and in a timely manner
* Positive attitude and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities
* Understanding of government processes, policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory frameworks
* Proficient use and understanding (or ability to rapidly acquire) of departmental applications including Microsoft Office, Content Manager, SharePoint, PowerBI and the National Quality Agenda IT System
