Due to growth, Progress Control & Engineering is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Trades Assistant to join our Sheet Metal team in our workshop in Launceston Tasmania.
The role will involve powder coating and support to our qualified tradesmen.
Key Responsibilities
* Batching and hanging components onto overhead transfer rails
* Preparing powders and application equipment
* Powder coating preparation, cleaning and spraying
* Monitoring coating quality during and after curing
* Handling, storing and ordering stock of powders, paints and consumables
* Assisting with other production and warehouse activities as directed
* General cleaning and maintenance to work area
Skill Set
* Experience using a variety of tools including power tools.
* Able to follow instruction.
* Working knowledge of computer systems
* Willingness to expand skill set.
* Good Mathematic Skills
* Great Attitude is a must
* Strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously
* Can take direction and work as part of a team
* Safety focused and have attention to detail
* Able to communicate with others effectively
* Demonstrated knowledge of best safe work practices
Desirable Skill Set
* Welding experience
What we offer
This is a full-time position with a probation period of 3 months with an immediate start, for a Trades assistant to form an integral part of the company and to work with our existing team of qualified technicians. Onsite training will be offered.
Work would be based on a 4 day week 6:30am to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday.
