About the Role
As an Operational Risk Manager - Resilience (CPS230), you will play a pivotal role in advising, supporting, and challenging Bank teams through the successful delivery and implementation of the CPS230 program. In this dynamic role, you'll lead risk management efforts, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and partner with the business to foster a robust risk and compliance culture.
**Role Type**: Fixed term contract opportunity until December 2025
What will your day look like?
**As an Operational Risk Manager, you will**:
Provide risk management and governance guidance to support the CPS230 program, ensuring compliance with its requirements.
Drive cultural change and enhance risk management awareness by building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Bank.
Collaborate with the Bank's risk community to ensure proper risk and compliance obligations are met and governance processes are effectively implemented.
Oversee and challenge changes to operational risks, compliance obligations, and value chains due to new regulatory requirements under CPS 230.
Ensure risk management practices align with the approved Risk Appetite Statement.
Develop solutions and recommendations based on legislation, regulations, and industry standards, while maintaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders and the Risk Community.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Proven experience in risk management or commercial roles within the financial services industry, showcasing a strong track record of success.
Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights, both in writing and verbally, for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated experience in managing and influencing multiple stakeholders, including senior management, to drive risk management initiatives forward.
Skilled at navigating the balance between risk management requirements and commercial realities, ensuring alignment with business goals and budget constraints.
Deep understanding of CPS230 requirements and familiarity with the Australian regulatory environment (APRA, ASIC, ATO).
Strong business acumen, clarity of purpose, and the ability to lead with simplicity and agility, while executing to achieve objectives.
