Task & responsibilities
* Manage end‑to‑end import and export operations, including bookings, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and delivery coordination.
* Prepare and maintain accurate trade documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates.
* Ensure strict compliance with Australian and international regulations for pharmaceuticals, medical devices, OTC products, and consumables.
* Liaise with global suppliers, distributors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory authorities to resolve shipment or compliance issues.
* Classify products using correct HS codes and manage duties, tariffs, and quarantine requirements.
* Track and monitor shipments, providing timely updates and addressing delays or discrepancies.
* Maintain accurate records, audit trails, and standard operating procedures for all import/export activities.
* Support business growth by sourcing new suppliers, evaluating market opportunities, and negotiating favourable trade terms.
* Assist in developing business plans and contribute to logistics, pricing, marketing, and operational improvement initiatives.
* Oversee product ordering, presentation, merchandising, and after‑sales service to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Qualification & experience
* Tertiary qualification in International Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Commerce or equivalent preferred.
* Minimum 3 years experience in import/export operations — ideally within pharmaceuticals, medical devices, healthcare or related regulated industries.
* Solid knowledge of customs procedures, HS classification, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
* Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers and regulatory agencies.
* Strong attention to detail, excellent record‑keeping and documentation skills.
* Effective communicator with negotiation skills and the ability to work across teams.
* Proficiency with MS Office; experience with ERP/logistics systems or customs platforms is an advantage.
