Kirwan Community Care Team, Mental Health Service Group, TOWNSVILLE
Kirwan Community Care Team provides a range of services to consumers in the short, medium and long term. These include individual treatment programs, family interventions, individual and group therapy, psychology services, psychiatric outpatient clinics and case management.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant participates as a member of the Mental Health Team in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, case management, intervention or group work as required within a multidisciplinary framework. The position is responsible for ensuring the implementation of individual assessment, diagnosis, treatment, follow up, multidisciplinary consultation, liaison with referring agents, discharge planning and evaluation of care using appropriate outcome and data measurement systems.

What's on offer?
Remuneration package of up to $164,696 p.a.
* Salary range: $132,562 - $143924 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 7).
* 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
* Provide input into the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols relating to community mental health and be accountable for the delivery of safe clinical practice and professional advice and ensure that appropriate clinical data is collected and maintained appropriately in clinical files and systems such as Consumer Information Mental Health Application.
* Participate in clinical education and practice supervision for Clinical Nurses, Registered Nurses and students.
* Collaborate with other agencies and services in providing appropriate, culturally safe and respectful assistance, care, counselling and medical treatment to persons with a mental illness.
Role requirements
* Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
* This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
Highly desirable
* Possession of relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualification in mental health nursing.
* Credentialed status with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
* Eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under Mental Health Act 2000.
