AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the services they rely on. Logistics Specialist role is to ensure the right part is in the right place at the right time. You will maintain the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centers, manage the custody of computer hardware through its lifecycle, receive and store parts, pick and deliver parts to hardware technicians, conduct cycle counts, and ship faulty hardware back to the vendor.
You will work with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable functioning and repair activities, while adhering to safety, security and availability principles.
Key responsibilities
* Maintain inventory to ensure proper stock levels for build and repair activities.
* Physically receive and issue parts for internal customers.
* Load, unload, and transport parts between sites.
* Keep accurate stock records through physical cycle counts.
* Maintain safety, organization, and cleanliness of workspaces using Amazon 7S principles.
Travel
* The role may require travel to other sites in the Melbourne metro area to assist with cycle counts, stock reception, replenishment, and returning defective stock. Travel between sites may require your own transport; travel costs are reimbursed.
Physical / Environmental Demands
* Follow safety-first principles; perform loading/unloading, standing, walking, and stairs as needed.
* Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and kneel; reach to position equipment.
* Push or pull up to 16 kg; participate in group lifts of 20 kg or more.
* Work with moving mechanical parts; work in office and warehouse environments with low to moderate noise.
A day in the life
Your day involves logistical support for Data Centers, including spare parts transactions, consumables stock replenishment, and stock cycle counting.
Basic Qualifications
* 1+ years of logistics, transportation, supply chain, import/export operations, or data entry/administration experience.
