Maintenance Technician Role
BAE Systems Australia is pleased to offer a permanent position in our Advanced Manufacturing team at Edinburgh Parks, SA. We are looking for a qualified Electrician with mechanical maintenance experience from Defence, Aviation or another highly regulated environment to join a specialist team supporting CNC machinery and automated systems. The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to keep operations safe and reliable.

Responsibilities
* Perform preventative maintenance/repairs on CNC machinery and automation systems.
* Diagnose and resolve faults across PLCs, drives, sensors, HMIs and low-voltage control systems.
* Respond to breakdowns with structured troubleshooting to restore equipment quickly.
* Complete minor mechanical tasks such as bearings, belts, lubrication and guarding adjustments.
* Perform electrical safety testing & ensure work meets AS/NZS & internal compliance standards.
* Equipment installations, commissioning, upgrades & minor electrical/mechatronic modifications.
* Maintain accurate records to support planning, asset history and reliability improvements.
* Collaborate with mechanical, engineering, production & quality teams to optimise performance.
* Identify reliability risks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Follow isolation procedures, safe work practices and all quality standards.
* Provide responsive support to production, communicating effectively with stakeholders.
* Mentor junior technicians and apprentices through on-the-job guidance.
* Assist engineering teams with diagnostic documents, technical updates and maintenance procedures.
* Review, update and produce technical publications and test procedures.
Qualifications
* Australian Electrical Trade Qualification (Electrical Fitter or equivalent).
* Current Electrical Licence.
* High-Risk Work Licence (EWP) and LOTO/permit-to-work training preferred.
* Experience in Defence, Aviation or other complex and highly regulated environments.
* Commitment to safety, accuracy and continuous improvement.
* Electrical maintenance experience in CNC machining, robotics, advanced manufacturing or high-precision production environments.

Requirements and Clearance
