Right now, we're seeking a Communications & Media Advisor who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. **About the role**
The Communications & Media Advisor supports the effective delivery of the TAC's road safety messages through broadcast, print and digital media. The role is responsible for utilising corporate affairs skills to protect, maintain and improve the TAC's reputation through media issues management and communication opportunities.
**About the Team**
Media Relations & Corporate Affairs is a small, collaborative and dynamic team including a Team Manager, Media Relations and Corporate Affairs, and Media and Communications Coordinator. The team fosters a supportive environment and strong relationships with stakeholders such as media outlets, journalists, Department of Transport and Planning and Victorian government.
***What we're looking for**
- **Strategic Media Planning and Execution**
Support the Team Manager in crafting and executing the TAC media strategy, ensuring alignment with our road safety objectives. You should be adept at identifying proactive media opportunities and providing timely, strategic advice to key stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team and government offices.
- **Stakeholder Engagement and Representation**
You will represent the media function in crucial meetings and forums, facilitating smooth workflows and task allocation. Your ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, from senior journalists to internal teams, is essential in maintaining the integrity of our communications and ensuring the TAC's messages are clearly articulated and understood.
- **Crisis Management and Reputation Oversight**
As part of your role, you will investigate high-profile incidents and manage emerging reputational issues. Your strategic recommendations and communications advice will play a critical role in shaping the TAC's public response, protecting TAC's public image, and reinforcing our commitment to road safety messaging, even in challenging situations.
