Job Description:
The Wheel Shop Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production activities related to rolling stock maintenance and component overhauls. This includes leading by example in workplace safety, implementing lean methodologies, collaborating with peers, and identifying potential production issues.
This role involves working closely with the on-site management team to ensure daily and weekly production targets are met. The manager will be responsible for making regular contact with customers to ascertain their demand requirements and providing updates in a timely manner.
In addition, the supervisor will participate in operations and business planning, influence policies, and contribute to system management. They must possess strong technical knowledge, mechanical ability, project management experience, and excellent organizational skills. A trade qualification in a related field is also required.
