About The Role
Grampians Health - Ballarat includes the Base Hospital (221 acute beds), Queen Elizabeth Centre (70 beds, Sub Acute Care), and Psychiatric Services (67 beds).
The facility features a new short stay unit, modern emergency, critical care, ambulatory, aged care, and rehabilitation services that integrate inpatient, ambulatory, community, and home-based care.
It is a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools.
The senior staff are dedicated to teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs, and Registrars.
The O&G department handles approximately 1300 deliveries annually and conducts multiple gynaecology theatre sessions weekly.
Key Responsibilities
Manage clinical care of O&G patients at outpatient and inpatient levels, including supervision and documentation, under the supervision of Consultant staff.
Attend ante-natal and gynaecology outpatient clinics and labour ward as rostered.
Coordinate effectively with midwifery and nursing staff to maintain high standards of clinical care.
Assist in theatre for Gynaecology and Obstetric cases and perform surgical procedures under supervision.
Skills And Experience
MBBS or equivalent degree, enabling registration with the Medical Board of Victoria.
Successful completion of at least two postgraduate years.
Preferable: FSEP competency in CTG course with RANZCOG.
Preferable: at least 12 months of experience working in O and G as a resident.
