About the role
The role is casual and will be based at Caloundra Aquatic Centre, reporting directly to the Head Coach.
Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation: Assist the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating training programs that address swimmers\' needs across various skill levels.
Swimmer Development: Foster a positive and supportive training environment, encourage swimmers\' progress, and facilitate a smooth transition between the Learn-to-Swim and Squad programs.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to ensure consistency and high-quality coaching across all programs.
Community Engagement: Promote club participation and encourage swimmers to participate in club activities and local, state, and national competitions, attending these to support swimmers\' development.
Communication: Maintain positive relationships with swimmers, parents, and the wider community.
Aquatics Coaching Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in aquatics coaching.
Schools Programs: Support the delivery of coaching for School swimming and training programs.
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can build and balance the multifaceted nature of the role. Key traits and experience include:
Prior coaching or upper level learn-to-swim teaching experience
Demonstrated ability to build solid relationships with swimmers and stakeholders and help them develop swimmers to their full potential
Strong communication, teamwork and collaboration skills, willingness to work with the site team and engage with swim teachers
Qualifications
Coaching accreditation – Competitive Strokes and Development/Bronze or higher
Current Blue Card
Current Lifeguard Qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
Willing to undergo a National Police Check
