We are looking for a passionate and hardworking **Team Leader** to join our Water and Sewer Delivery team at Singleton Council. In this role, you'll make a real impact on the everyday lives of people within our community by achieving important outcomes for Singleton to grow and flourish.

Council provides water services to approximately 18,031 people, servicing the Singleton township and a number of nearby rural areas and industrial customers. In addition, Council has a considerable raw water system servicing mining and commercial customers.
Council provides sewerage treatment services to approximately 14,709 people in the urban footprint of Singleton community comprising of gravity system, numerous pump stations, a significant area of pressure sewer and a treatment plant.
**THE ROLE**
In your role you will contribute to important community outcomes and making a real impact for Singleton. The natural diversity of your role means that every day will be different. The Water and Sewer Network Team Leaders are part of the Water and Sewer Network Delivery Team who together provide operation, installation, maintenance and repair works for Council's water and sewer distribution and treatment systems.
The Network Team Leader is primarily responsible for the daily coordination of small work teams to ensure they carry out the objectives to operate, construct and maintain water and sewer network systems. The position ensures safety, productivity and licencing requirements are met and the performance of field Water and Sewer Network Operators is managed, delivering work activities that meet customer service levels, safety, cost, quality and time objectives.
**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**
- Certificate III (or above) in Water Operations (or willingness to obtain) with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience, technical understanding and qualifications in the water and sewer industry;
- Experience in water and sewer, construction and/or plumbing industry with an ability to use range of relevant equipment (e.g. excavator, backhoe and sewer jetter)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, motivate and support a team, ensuring they achieve work targets and objectives safely and efficiently;
- Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule work for a small team
- Proof of immunity against Hepatitis A and B and tetanus (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Customer focus with the ability to resolve customer complaints and work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
A willingness and ability to obtain, through Council provided training, the following is required:
- Class MR or above licence
- Implement traffic control
- Confined space entry
- Safe working at Heights
- Dogman certification
- Operate high pressure jetting water system
- Working near overhead powerlines
- AQF3 Chemical safety
Certificate level qualification for this position is supported under Council's Education Assistance Policy.
This position is offered on a **permanent, fulltime** basis working **76 **hours per fortnight on a team-based 9-day fortnight. This position participates in the on-call roster.
Remuneration for this position is based on **GRADE 9** of the salary system which equates to a base salary with adverse working conditions allowance of between $2,662.24 - $2,990.42 per fortnight plus superannuation, rostered on call and other award allowances totaling an **average TRP $3,240.19 - $3,612.37 **per fortnight.** **This position includes the benefit of** commuter use of a fit-for-purpose vehicle**.
